About Us

Dr. Arlene F. Aucella is a principal and owner of AFA Design Consultants based in Hamilton, Mass. With over twenty years experience, she has designed and tested user interfaces for a wide range of applications including business software, graphics, communications, network management and command and control systems. She has prepared user interface guidelines for screen-based and voice-based systems. She served on ISO and ANSI committees to develop standards for user interfaces. Dr. Aucella is a frequent lecturer at universities and conferences. She has presented many seminars to product development teams on the benefits and techniques of human factors. She received her Ph.D. from Boston University in Experimental Psychology.
