Dr. Arlene F. Aucella, is a principal and owner of AFA Design Consultants based in South Hamilton, Mass. With over twenty years experience, she has designed and tested user interfaces for a wide range of applications including mobile phones, financial and medical software, graphics, communications, network management and air traffic control.She has prepared user interface guidelines for screen-based and voice-based systems. She served on ISO and ANSI committees to develop standards for user interfaces. Dr. Aucella is a frequent lecturer at universities and conferences. She has presented many seminars to product development teams on the benefits and techniques of usability. She received her Ph.D. from Boston University in Experimental Psychology.
